Am I eligible?
If you live, work or attend school in central and coastal California, you are eligible to join SESLOC. That includes Cal Poly Mustangs!
You are also eligible if your immediate family member belongs to SESLOC (parent, grandparent, child, grandchild, and siblings, including step-relationships). Minors are welcome to open accounts, too. Joining a credit union is a great way for young people to begin learning money management skills. Eligible central and coastal California counties include: San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Ventura, Monterey, Santa Cruz, Tulare, Kern, Fresno, and Kings.
Do you accept ITINs?
Yes!
SESLOC accepts ITINs, or an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number, for auto and personal loans or for credit card applications. You may also open deposit accounts with an ITIN.
Do you accept Matrícula Consular cards?
Yes!
SESLOC accepts Mexican Matrícula Consular cards. This is an identification card issued by the Government of Mexico through its consulate offices to Mexican nationals residing outside of Mexico.
What does it cost to join?
There is no recurring membership fee.
Establish your Credit Union membership with a $5 deposit to a Primary Share Savings account and a one-time $5 membership fee. Then, you’re eligible for all credit union benefits, including our popular HomeFREE Checking™ account.
Do I need to make an appointment to join at the branch?
Nope!

Do I need to join first before applying for a loan?
Nope!
You do need to be a member to get a loan at SESLOC, but you don’t need to join online or at the branch first before applying for a loan. Apply for a loan online now, visit your nearest branch, or call us at (805) 543-1816 to get started and we’ll help you complete your membership application at the same time.
What if I move? Am I still a member?
Yep!
Even if you move out of the area, you remain a member of SESLOC when you maintain a membership account in good standing. Check out all of the ways you can bank remotely »
If I join, do I have to move all of my accounts and funds over?
Nope.
You do not have to move your other deposit or loan accounts to SESLOC. However, the more you bank at SESLOC, the more benefits you get. Check out how our Level Up program rewards members.
A Note for New Accounts — The USA Patriot Act requires financial institutions to verify your identity when opening an account. You and any joint owner(s) will be asked to provide a current California Driver’s License (and proof of address if you’ve moved) plus social security number(s). Accounts that can be opened by mail may have additional requirements. If you do not have a California Driver’s License, you may use a current government-issued photo ID.
