SESLOC competed with other San Luis Obispo County organizations in Rideshare’s Summer Clean Air Challenge, and thanks to the efforts of our employees, we came out on top!
Over the summer, employees logged their carbon dioxide-saving commuting alternatives — such as riding their bike, carpooling, using the bus, or telecommuting. Our team logged over 650 trips, preventing nearly 6 tons of CO2 from entering the air in SLO County. According to Rideshare, “that’s the same amount of carbon sequestered by 7.2 acres of U.S. forests in one year!”
Thanks to the combined efforts with the 16 other teams, including Cal Poly and French Hospital, the Summer Challenge totaled 14,624 trips — saving SLO County from 96.1 tons of CO2. Interested in joining in next time? Learn more at Rideshare — we’re looking forward to seeing our combined impact in the next challenge.
