We’re partnering with News Channel 12 to honor nonprofit volunteers who make our community thrive. Each month, we’re choosing a different nonprofit and asking them to select a valuable volunteer to receive the SESLOC Cares for Community Award. We are thrilled to introduce our latest recipient, Jenny Molinar, from the Alzheimer’s Association Central Coast Chapter.
According to the Alzheimer’s Association, 7 million Americans are living with the disease. Moreover, one-in-three seniors will die with Alzheimer’s or another form of dementia. The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is one of the organization’s major fundraisers each year, which not only helps to fund care, support and research, but also provides awareness for the disease. Each year, Jenny walks in honor of her family and the people she serves through her job carrying for those affected by dementia.
For nearly two decades, Jenny has dedicated her time to the Alzheimer’s Association, impacting countless lives. As co-chair of the Walk to End Alzheimer’s — San Luis Obispo, she led the 2024 event, exceeding goals and raising over $250,000. She was also recognized as one of the top 40 individual fundraisers nationwide.
Jenny also facilitates two caregiver support groups weekly and advocates for legislation to support those living with dementia.
We are proud to present the SELOC Community Cares award to Jenny Molinar. Jenny, thank you for your devoted service!
