We joined the Mexican Consulate for a pop up “Consulado Movil” in Paso Robles on Saturday, March 23 and Sunday, March 24. Over the course of the two-day event, more than 600 attendees registered for their Matrícula Consular identification card and received their Individual Taxpayer Identification Number, or ITIN.
Other agencies and organizations, including SESLOC, were also on site to provide information on important resources, like accessing health care, filing taxes in the United States and more.
Sandra Bautista-Floyd, SESLOC Paso Robles Branch Manager, chatted with attendees about the importance of having a bank account and provided financial education information.
“As a credit union, we’re all about people helping people,” Sandra said, “and that’s why we came out to support this event. Since SESLOC accepts ITIN’s Matrícula Consular, we can help people access affordable loan rates, low fees, free checking accounts, and many no-cost services. It’s great to see so many people were able to get information on how to obtain this documentation at this event, so they could begin to get housing and other services, especially banking.”
We are looking forward to helping more people at the next pop-up event in our community.
