We’re partnering with News Channel 12 to honor nonprofit volunteers who make our community thrive. Each month, we’re choosing a different nonprofit and asking them to select a valuable volunteer to receive the SESLOC Cares for Community Award. In April, we were thrilled to meet Kristy Soriano, from the Food Bank of Santa Barbara County.
Kristy Soriano was born in Santa Maria, graduated from Santa Maria High and continued at Allan Hancock College.
Kristy volunteers throughout our community and assisted the creation of Hancock’s Food Share program. Along with her husband Brannon, Kristy has been volunteering with the Foodbank of Santa Barbara County since 2021.
She has dedicated her time with the picnic in the park program, food distributions, pre-packs, and nutrition educator program. She is also one of the few foodbank community ambassadors.
Congratulations Kristy for being chosen the SESLOC Cares for Community award recipient!
