We’re partnering with News Channel 12 to honor nonprofit volunteers who make our community thrive. Each month, we’re choosing a different nonprofit and asking them to select a valuable volunteer to receive the SESLOC Cares for Community Award. We were recently thrilled to meet Stephen Gonzales, from the San Luis Obispo Children’s Museum.
Stephen Gonzales has made San Luis Obispo County his home since 1985. For the last eighteen years, he has donated his valuable time to the San Luis Obispo Children’s Museum, building whimsical exhibits and spaces.
He helped create SLO Town with a medical office, café, performance stage, trolley, bank, farmers’ market and mini Bubblegum Alley, and is currently installing an exciting new outdoor exhibit called the adventure playscape. Stephen helps the museum fulfill its mission of Inspiring learning through play.
Congratulations, Stephen, for being chosen the SESLOC Cares for Community award recipient!
