For five years, SESLOC has proudly sponsored EverFi’s Financial Scholars program, providing Central Coast high school students with practical, online financial education curriculum on topics like budgeting, credit, taxes, financing higher education, and more. Here are the program results from the 2023-2024 school year and the impact the program has made on students over the last half decade.
2023-2024 Program Results:
- Active participation by 12 Central Coast high schools, including Arroyo Grande, Cabrillo, Central Coast New Tech, Maple, Nipomo, Paso, Fillmore, Lopez, San Luis Obispo, San Marcos, Santa Maria, Shandon.
- Students completed 5,125 hours of learning
- Students’ assessment scores increased by 39% compared to the pre-test.
- Students reported feeling significantly more confident in their ability to navigate their finances.
5 Year Impact:
- Active participation from 16 Central Coast high schools, including Morro Bay, Cuyama Valley, Pioneer Valley, Lompoc, Arroyo Grande, Cabrillo, Central Coast New Tech, Maple, Nipomo, Paso, Fillmore, Lopez, San Luis Obispo, San Marcos, Santa Maria, Shandon
- Nearly 3,500 students completed the program
- Students completed over 14,100 hours of learning
- Assessment scores have gone up an average of 40.5% since the start of the program.
