We’re thrilled to be back on the Cal Poly campus to welcome students starting the new academic year! Our newest branch and ATM are officially open in the Julian A. McPhee University Union (next to Starbucks) to serve the financial needs of the campus community.
Our full-service branch will extend products and services available to current members, such as our completely free HomeFREE checking account with rewards points for debit card purchases. The 24-hour ATM on campus has a minimum withdrawal amount of $5, and to complement the physical branch location, we offer remote banking options such as Video Banking and Live Chat — which are both safe and convenient. Students may also use 24/7 digital services such as mobile deposit and contactless payments via Apple, Google or Samsung Pay to manage their money.
“One of our most significant responsibilities as a credit union is to deliver financial education in the communities we serve,” stated Geri LaChance, SESLOC’s President and CEO. “We’re proud to not only extend our free and low-cost services to students, helping their budgets to go further, but to be a partner in their journey to financial independence post-graduation.”
Students will have access to our free financial education opportunities. Our free webinars and News+ blog provide a foundation for financial wellness skills like budgeting, saving, and more. In early October, students will be able to register for their first SESLOC webinar on safe online practices and identity theft protection.
In addition, we will provide deposit accounts for more than 400 Registered Student Organizations through ASI Club Services, ensuring quick, convenient access to funds for their activities. We are also partnering with student-run businesses, such as Mustang Media Group for general advertising, and will offer new job opportunities to students including internships, mentorships, and brand ambassador positions in 2022.
Hours of operation for our Cal Poly branch are Monday – Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with ATM service available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Drop-ins are accepted, or appointments may be booked online.
